As published in the October 28 Principal Updates, the annual 2024-25 Facts for Parents booklet and the 2024-25 Universal Form are digital through the Parent Portal.
Facts for Parents is an annual publication containing updated information relevant to the families of San Diego Unified, including rights and responsibilities as well as district, local, state, and federal policies that impact all students. Schools are required to provide the Facts for Parents booklet to all parents/guardians each year and to document that the parents/guardians have received it. Documentation of receipt of Facts for Parents for all families is due by January 31, 2025. Parents/guardians can also complete or update the 2024-25 Universal Form online. This new form has been added to the other forms in the Parent Portal. It allows parents/guardians to submit Photo/Video/Media Release information, Technology/Network Acceptable Use information, and acknowledge the Restorative Discipline Plan and Policy. The Tracking Facts for Parents & Universal Forms handbook is available to support schools with the collection process of this new form in PowerSchool. Note: If the Parent Portal is not used, school sites must manually enter this information in PowerSchool when a paper form is obtained from the parent/guardian.
For families with parent portal accounts who need guidance completing the Facts for Parents or Universal Form online, school sites can direct them to the Parent Portal Resource Website in the Forms category of the Help tile to access the revised videos.
