CALPADS Census Day is Wednesday, October 1, 2025. It is essential that all schools ensure their master schedule data is accurate and complete to meet state reporting requirements.

Please review the following key tasks and resources to support these changes in PowerSchool. 

Teacher Assignments

• Ensure all teacher assignments in the master schedule are verified and aligned with school allocations.

• Follow proper steps when reassigning, closing, or creating new sections, and when replacing or removing Lead and ZZ Teachers.

Resources & Guidance

• Teacher Scheduling: Refer to the Elementary or Secondary Scheduling Handbooks for step-by-step instructions on managing teacher sections.

• ZZTeachers / Placeholder Teachers: Update all temporary ZZTeacher or Placeholder entries to reflect actual Teacher. Use the Replacing a ZZTeacher or Other Teacher Placeholder Job Aid for guidance.

• Student Schedules: Confirm that all students are scheduled in classes by October 1. See Opening of School Guide (page 27) for detailed instructions.

Timely completion of these tasks is critical to ensure your school and the district meet CALPADS reporting requirements.
