PowerScheduler Commit Process

PowerScheduler Commit Process
Posted on 04/25/2025 at 11:38

Effective Monday, April 28, 2025, IT will open a new function in PowerSchool’s PowerScheduler, allowing schools to manage their own commit process. This new function will enable schools to schedule their commit, check pre-commit validations, and independently run their own commit process. It’s important that this message is read in its entirety and shared with need-to-know contacts.

Key Details:

  • Security Role: A new security role, PowerScheduler Commit Administrator, has been configured to grant the necessary permissions to perform the commit and related tasks. Only one staff member at each school site should be granted this access.

  • Designated Staff: Each school should designate a staff member responsible for identifying and clearing all validation errors before committing a school schedule. Once designated, assign the new security role to this staff member to proceed with selecting a commit date. Please ensure this task is completed by May 1, 2025.

  • Commit Scheduling: A maximum of 15 commits per day will be allowed, and dates will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Multiple schools may commit simultaneously, and options are available for both Saturdays and Sundays.

  • Commit Timeline: All elementary schools, including K-8 schools, must commit their teacher and student schedules by May 30, 2025. Secondary schools have a deadline of June 20, 2025. There will be no exceptions.

User documentation and training sessions are available to help you get started. Please register for upcoming PowerScheduler Commit Open Labs in May through Professional Learning, or refer to the Pre-Commit Validations and Commit handbook for guidance on this new process.
